Optimal treatment for skin infections with Herpes simplex virus in adults and children.

It contains the active substance aciclovir in micronized form, to increase the bioavailability of the suspension type cream to close to that of the solution type cream.
It is indicated in the treatment of skin infections with Herpes simplex virus, including genital and labial herpes, initial and recurrent.
1 gram of cream contains acyclovir 50 mg.
It also contains emulsifier cetylstearyl alcohol type A (Lanette N), white petrolatum, propylene glycol, polysorbate 80, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, n-propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, purified water.
It is applied to the skin lesions 5 times a day, at 4-hour intervals, except at night. The treatment starts as soon as possible after the onset of the infection, and for recurrent episodes, the treatment should preferably start during the prodromal period or at the appearance of the first lesions.
Treatment should be continued for 5 days. If after 5 days there is no improvement/healing, the duration of the treatment can be increased up to a maximum of 10 days.
