Chamomile, one of the most used and effective remedies for calming colic, has antispasmodic and anti-inflammatory action and helps to calm spasms of the intestinal muscles of babies. Spasms are due, on the one hand, to the accumulation of gases in the intestines, and, on the other hand, to the way in which the baby's body reacts and tries to adapt to the new way of eating after birth. This process is a long one and during the adaptation, the baby's body does not fully digest the ingested milk, which ends up fermenting and producing gases and cramps.
