Betamethasone Fiterman 0.5 mg/g cream is indicated for the relief of inflammation and pruritus in corticosteroid-responsive dermatological conditions, such as: atopic dermatitis, contact eczema, non-parasitic pruritus, lichen planus and psoriasis.
One gram of cream contains 0.5 mg betamethasone as 0.643 mg betamethasone dipropionate.
Excipients: propylene glycol, cetostearyl alcohol, macrogol cetostearyl ether 30, liquid paraffin, octyldodecanol, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 218), n-propyl p-hydroxybenzoate (E 216), purified water.
Betamethasone Fiterman 0.5 mg/g, cream can be applied once or twice a day, in a thin layer, to the affected area, massaging gently. An increase in the number of daily applications may increase the risk of side effects, without improving the therapeutic effect. Depending on the clinical response, the duration of treatment may vary from a few days to a longer period of time, but it should not exceed 3 weeks without re-evaluation of the patient. The maximum dose should not exceed 45 g of betamethasone per week. It should not be used under occlusive dressings.
In children aged under 12 years, it is only used in exceptional cases, under strict supervision and it is contraindicated in children aged under 1 year.
