Acetylcysteine is indicated in the treatment of bronchial secretion disorders. Clinical studies have shown that after 10 days, patients receiving acetylcysteine (200 mg 3 times a day) experienced a decrease in symptoms - cough severity and sputum viscosity (Brocard H, Charpin J, Germouty J. Etude multi-centrique en double aveugle avec acetylcysteine orale vs placebo. Eur J Respir Dis 1980; 61 Suppl. 111: 65-9).
Rich in flavonoids and bioflavonoids, elderflowers are known for their beneficial properties on the body. The flavonoids in elderberries - anthocyanins, quercetin and isoquercitrin - help the body during the period when it is facing the flu or cold. Elderberries are known for their immunostimulating action, contributing to the health of the immune system. In addition, clinical studies have shown that elderberries reduce the average duration of cough days by 50% (The Journal of International Medical Research 2004; 32: 1032 – 1040), by 77% the intensity of cough (Online Journal of Pharmacology and Pharmacokinetics, volume 5:32-43, 2009) and increase antibody production by 42% (Zakay-Rones Y et al., J Altern Complement Med 1995; 1:361-369).
Vitamin C is an essential nutrient for the normal functioning of physiological processes. However, vitamin C cannot be synthesized or stored by the human body. In this regard, the need for vitamin C will be ensured through adequate nutrition and nutritional supplements.
Vitamin C helps with the optimal functioning of the immune system, reducing fatigue and exhaustion, improving iron absorption, normal functioning of metabolism and protecting the body against oxidative stress.
Thyme has been used since ancient times to help treat respiratory problems, low immunity, but also for digestion, as an energizer or de-stressor. Thyme leaves contain essential oils such as thymol, carvacrol, borneol and geraniol, phenolic antioxidants, flavonoids such as zea - xanthin, lutein, pigenin, naringenin, luteolin and thymonin. All these substances make thyme a good antiseptic, expectorant, stimulant and carminative.
