More details about the ingredients
Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by fungi, especially Candida albicans . A candida infection can be recognized by itching, burning sensation, rosette and white, granular secretion ("white discharge").
Bacterial vaginitis is a vaginal infection caused by pathogenic strains such as Gardnerella vaginalis and Trichomonas vaginalis . The most common symptoms consist of abundant secretions, white-yellowish-grey in color, with an unpleasant "fishy" smell, which worsens after sexual contact. Irritation, itching and pain may occur during sexual intercourse.
Drug therapy for vaginal infections only considers the eradication of pathogenic microorganisms, but, according to countless studies, it was found that, despite the high rate of cure in the first month after traditional treatment (70.5-80%), the recurrence rate of vaginal infections at 3 months after treatment it is 50%, rising to 80% 12 months after treatment. This happens because, along with the removal of pathogenic bacteria, the lactobacilli are also removed, thus creating a favorable ground for re-infection with pathogenic microorganisms.
The therapy of vaginal infections should therefore not only take into account the eradication of pathogens, but should also seek to restore the vaginal flora and pH, thus restoring the physiological, natural defense mechanisms against pathogens.
Mastrelle Flora Plus vaginal capsules contain pure ingredients, carefully selected, combined with vitamins and standardized plant extracts: bio-active pebiotic complex, D-xylitol, lactic acid, vitamins, hyaluronic acid, natural extracts of echinacea, chamomile and wild chestnut.
D-xylitol selectively inhibits pathogens while the prebiotic complex stimulates the growth of lactobacilli, a mechanism also supported by lactic acid by lowering the vaginal pH and restoring the physiological conditions for the development of lactobacilli.
The saponins from the wild chestnut extract delicately clean the intravaginal environment, having an anti-adherent effect for pathogens.
Echinacea extract has antifungal properties, while chamomile extract has antibacterial properties and relieves the symptoms associated with bacterial vaginitis such as itching, burning and inflammation, while also regenerating the altered vaginal mucosa.
According to the clinical study evaluating the effectiveness of Mastrelle Flora, carried out between 2017-2019, in women with vaginitis and/or vaginal candidiasis, a 70.2% reduction in the number of recurrences was observed.
The content of one sachet is dissolved in 200-300 ml of warm water, resulting in a solution with a pH of 3.5, which is used for internal washing with the help of the Mastrelle® vaginal irrigator or any other suitable irrigator. The frequency of using the vaginal douche depends on the state of vaginal health:
- for general vaginal hygiene: one sachet of Mastrelle® Flora Plus, applied vaginally per week;
- for intensive vaginal hygiene, as support treatment in vaginal infections: one sachet of Mastrelle® Flora Plus, applied vaginally 1-2 times a day, for 5 days;
- to remove the residues of the previously administered ovum or vaginal tablet: one envelope of Mastrelle® Flora Plus, taken vaginally half an hour before the administration of a new ovum or vaginal tablet.
