Short description
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory topical treatment of first choice in pain caused by trauma or chronic inflammatory processes.
Indications
In adults for symptomatic local treatment of:
- muscular and osteoarticular pain and inflammation in rheumatic diseases;
- treatment of post-operative and post-traumatic oedema (e.g. sprains);
- muscular and osteoarticular pain and inflammation in traumatic diseases (e.g. slight trauma of the tendons, muscles, ligaments).

Advantages
Menthol gives a cooling sensation at application site, which contributes to rapid pain relief.
Menthol, by its rubefacient properties, it is also an absorption promoter for diclofenac. Thus, it increases the amount of diclofenac able to penetrate the profound skin layers after topical application, down to the source of pain and inflammation.
The gel form allows the administration without massage, with a particular benefit in the case of traumatic conditions where intense pain does not allow the massage.
Different pack sizes of 25 g, 45g, 100g, allow an individualization of treatment costs with period and area to apply on.

Composition
1 gram of gel contains diclofenac sodium 10 mg.
Also contains l-menthol, carbomer 980, trolamine, ethanol 96%, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, purified water.

Dosage and administration
The gel is applied only in adults, at the level of the affected area for 3-4 times daily, and then gently rubbed until complete skin penetration. The administered dose depends on the total surface of the affected area, ranging between 2-4 g of gel (corresponding to approximately 5-10 cm of gel).
Excepting the strictly recommended conditions, the duration of the treatment in case of soft tissue injuries and abarticular rheumatism should not exceed 14 days and in arthritis, the gel must not be used for more than 28 days.
