Ostart® Plus Ca + K2 + D3, tablets
Short description
Ostart®Plus Ca + K2 + D3 film-coated tablets is a complex product that is recommended in periods characterized by minerals loss such as bone loss in pre- and postmenopausal or in elderly persons as well as excessive fluid loss and electrolytes (for example during intense physical activity or during hot weather) or if the body requires an increased calcium intake, such as adolescent’s growth period.
Indications
Ostart®Plus Ca + K2 + D3 film-coated tablets is recommended in:
1. Situations when the body losses minerals
- in pre- and postmenopausal period and in elderly
- liquids and electrolytes losses (e.g. during hot weather)
2. Situations when the body requires an increased intake of calcium, vitamin K2 and vitamin D3
- children and adolescents during the growing period
- intense physical and psychological activity
- in preconception, pregnancy and breastfeeding

Composition
Calcium carbonate, polyvinylpyrrolidone-vinyl acetate copolymer, bulking agent (microcrystalline cellulose), crosslinked sodium carboxymethylcellulose, menaquinone-7, anti-caking agent (stearic acid), cholecalciferol and coating agent [polyvinyl alcohol, polyethylene glycol, aluminum and potassium silicate, talc, dye (titanium dioxide)].

- Calcium 400 mg (50% DRI*)
- Vitamin K2 (MK-7) 45 µg (60% DRI*)
- Vitamin D3 15 μg (600 IU) (300% DRI*)

Dosage and administration
Children over 12 years old: 1 tablet per day
It is recommended to break the tablet on the median line so it can be swallowed more easily by children or persons experiencing swallowing difficulties.

Recommendations
Calcium may reduce the absorption of some medicines such as fluoride, phosphorus, levotiroxine, bisphosphonates, antibiotics such as tetracyclines and fluoroquinolones (ciprofloxacin) if the calcium is administered concomitantly with these medicines. These medicines must be administered at least four hours before or after taking calcium-containing products.
In high doses, calcium may increase the effect of digoxin and the risk of cardiac arrhythmias and may reduce the effectiveness of calcium blockers (such as verapamil); for the patients treated with these medicines, the administration of calcium requires the monitoring of serum calcium levels.

- This product is a dietary supplement and doesn’t replace an adequate and balanced diet.
